Privacy policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
vegama is a Mac email client built by Jacob Medaris for his own personal use. This policy explains what vegama does with Google user data.
What vegama accesses
When you sign in with Google, vegama asks for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify. It uses it to read your messages and their labels, to show them in the app, to change labels (for example archiving or marking read), and to send mail you write. It cannot permanently delete mail.
Where your data goes
- Your mail is downloaded from Google directly to your Mac and stored there in an encrypted local database.
- Sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
- vegama does not send your mail, contacts or tokens to its developer or to any server run by its developer.
- If you turn on optional AI features with your own AI provider key, the parts of an email needed for that feature are sent to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms. These features are off until you turn them on.
- vegama has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Sharing
vegama does not sell, rent or share Google user data with anyone, and does not use it for advertising.
Limited Use
vegama's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing your data
Removing an account in vegama deletes its local database and its Keychain item. You can also revoke vegama's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
